Default Got my exhaust done!!!! Videos ready!!!!

Since my truck is pretty much stock, I went with the 1 5/8" headers. Most of you know this by now, but what a HUGE PITA it is to get the stock CRAP out of there! Since we are in the People's Republic of New Jersey, I put cats on as well. I bought a pair of Magnaflow 3" high flow cats about a year ago for the 95 so I put them to use. I also used the Dynomax Ultra Flo X muffler. My plan was to cut the tips and angle them like Dave's kit, but while mocking them up, I liked the straight cut and left it that way. I rerouted the transmission wires so I didn't have to worry about the heat. I am going to wrap the brake lines so to keep them safe too.

I was getting a little discourage at how long it was taking me, but when I started it up, it was worth it I haven't driven it yet. I want to wrap the brake lines before I get it too hot. I did give it a couple of revs and it sounded pretty good. I'll get some video up sometime this weekend. I'll have a couple of pics up later today

Default lookin good

Them bolts are a Pain in the butt I ended up using allen head and hex head bolts, putting the Bassani's on Pulling the old headers out takes patience and brute force! Keep up the good work!

With the 1 5/8" there was no notching required. Yes, its 3" all the way out. The 1 5/8" headers claim to have 2.5" collectors. However, they are the same collectors as the 3", but with an extended ball end. So once you cut the ball end off, it is a 3" collector.

Where's the sound clips?!

BTW, here's what JJ did to my truck with Pickrel's. It's a heat wrap that Banks provides with their turbo kits. We just wrapped it around the frame where the brake lines are:

I bought a starter thermal blanket (since that is all I could find at AdvanceAuto). I cut it and wrapped the lines.and that big puffy thing... which I think is already insulated I have to get some video clips of it when it finally stops raining!

Chip, How did you get the tips that color. I used hi temp paint on the pipes I gave you and it melted right off. If you want to get them powder coated let me know I have a friend that does it.

The exhaust is painted with 1500* header paint. The tips are 1200* paint.

Well that's half the underneith. Can I get a hole shot of it complete in the mock up frame?

Yeah yeah, I'll have pics of the whole kit soon. I got a video in between the rain drops, but I guess the camera was too close and it was pretty distorted. I'll get a better one driving so you can really hear it.

Thanks Kevin!

Is it the stock GTII tires that just don't smoke that much? The camera doesn't show it that well, but that was actually a decent burnout, but there wasn't much smoke. There wasn't much smoke during the weak burnout at the bash either

Turn your speakers up! Its not quiet. It might not be excessively loud. You'll just have to hear it
