Default Ford unveils the new SVT

I guess it good news, but it's not the SVT I was holding my breath for.
2010 is still aways off, so things could still change, but this sure looks likes its a go as is...........

Freddie could get one and lay off Huff's driveway and instead, tear up his front yard

They have two versions: the Raptor and the RaptorR.
First ones available will have the 5.4L. The 6.2 is expected later on.

We shall see..........

I guess that's the whole point, most of us are not "offroaders". I'm disappointed that they did not come out with the Gen 3 Lightning and put in forged rods like the Ford GT has. Do ya think they will warranty these trucks after Baja Maniacs have been beating on them all day? I doubt it.

I heard about 3 years ago, they were developing 2 SVT trucks. One would be a street performance truck, like the Raptor, and the other would be a lighter version for race. Who knows what will come out of the SVT garage. The F100 would have been the perfect truck for the Lightning. The Raptor could be a developement tool for a performance drivetrain for a race version. As it is, it's surprising they launched a truck for the nich market during the worst downturn in automotive history.
Personally, I love the Raptor. If I won the lottory, there would be a Raptor in the driveway.

I suspect the 400HP 6.2 will be over 40K.

$38,995 is the price that Ford suggests.

60k to 70k suggests that your dealer is a thief.
